LiteData (litedata.co.uk) is an independent open-source project that develops tools to make public datasets accessible to researchers, analysts, and policymakers. LiteData is not a registered company or legal entity. It is operated by an individual based in the United Kingdom.
For the purposes of UK GDPR and EU GDPR, LiteData acts as a data controller in respect of any personal data processed through this website.

When you use the data explorer tools on this platform, you submit natural language queries. These queries are transmitted to a third-party AI service (Mistral AI) for processing. We do not store your queries in our own database.

Queries submitted through LiteData tools are processed by Mistral AI (Mistral AI S.A.S., Paris, France). When you submit a query, it is transmitted to Mistral AI's API along with relevant database results to generate a response.
Under Mistral AI's Commercial Terms of Service (effective March 12, 2026), query inputs and outputs processed through the paid commercial API are not used for model training. Mistral AI retains API inputs and outputs solely for the period necessary to provide the service and for abuse monitoring purposes, in accordance with their Data Processing Addendum.

All health data displayed through LiteData tools is sourced from the NHS Scotland Open Data platform, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0. This data is entirely public and contains no personal health information.
This website is served through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and request metadata as part of its DDoS protection and content delivery services. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Mistral AI is a French company operating under EU jurisdiction. Queries transmitted to Mistral AI's API are processed within the European Economic Area (EEA) and are therefore subject to EU GDPR protections.
Cloudflare operates a global network. Traffic may be routed through servers outside the UK and EEA. Cloudflare participates in the UK-US Data Bridge and EU-US Data Privacy Framework. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
